Welcome to my Slice of Life.
Welcome to my Slice of Life.
My life is about so much more than my photography, although my photography is how I communicate my life. I am so excited to have this blog to share my family, my friends, and my work - in random order.
I love photography, but I love my family and friends even more. Bringing my passions together and sharing them daily is what this blog is about.
There is something about that dang photograph that I can’t stop looking at. Not a specific photograph, but that photograph that I think captures more than just a moment in time. A photo should be much more than that. It is so important to me to capture a photograph that means something to you, to me, to all the people that will be looking at it for years. That photo that says who we are as people.
Welcome to my Slice of Life.

Hi Jim,
Saw that your work was mentioned on the ProPhotog forum and it is truly inspiring! I love that your images are real and evoke so much emotion, especially of the children-you have a gift! Could completely relate to your photographers statement as I grew up in Michigan and have the same memories as a child growing up there.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Jim!
I love your blog, so personal and real. You angle at photography is really wonderful. I guess REAL is again the word that comes to mind.
Your snowstorm story in your statement actually made me tear up. I find myself in the same situation every now and then and it’s just wild.
Today I had some of my homemade bread with jam. For some strange reason all of a sudden I could taste my grandmother’s wonderful homemade bread. In my favorite picture of her she is smiling, standing right next to a batch of her fresh bread. It brought me to tears - good ones. : )
Keep saving those precious moments!

Jim: I found your blog. I love photos - I love YOUR photos!! When are you going to have another open house? Ren and I would love to get away from F-M for a couple of days sometime.
Are you sure that’s Bergen on the unicycle? Has her hair gotten longer, or has it just been too long since I’ve seen her?
I enjoy your thoughtful comments, too.
