I turned 40 yesterday.
It came and went. I wasn’t really looking forward to it. It’s just a number, but not my favorite number. Tuesday night I was sitting here and didn’t have a single plan for my day. I was trying to think of something to do for myself that would make the day a little more tolerable. Then it occurred to me what I wanted to do.
I called my old studiomate, Matt Blum, an incredible young wedding and portrait photographer, and fascinating person, and asked if you had time to shoot a portrait session of me. It was out of the box for me… I’ve never really been on the “other” side of the camera.
It was a great experience, and Matt got some good and creative stuff, although I’m still getting used to looking at them.
Maybe this should become a tradition for me on my birthday.
Here are a few from the session that Matt sent over to me last night. Thank you, Matt.

Super cool idea. And even better than being a good experience for you now, your kids will totally treasure these sometime down the line. Happy bday. :)

And thanks for coming along Kathrine! I would have gotten tired of Matt’s ugly mug. ;) It did help.
