Still playing this morning.
I stayed up entirely too late last night for having to get up at 6:30 to get the kids to school, but I was having too much fun learning what works and what doesn’t with applying my new-found but late-to-the-game interest in textures. I’m trying to find an application of textures that plays well with my style, which has required a combination of traditional texturing with additional aging techniques that I’ve picked up along the way.
I’m not really sure if they “work,” but I’m having fun learning something a little bit different. I’ll try to spare you from any further experimentation. But I doubt I’ll be able to. ; )
Here are two renditions of the same shot, taken at Melissa and Antonio’s wedding several years ago (this shot was actually from my first real all-day wedding). I’m really not sure about what I’m seeing so I would love feedback. Thanks Katrina for you comment on my last blog post… I tried taking a bit off the faces, but thinking I still didn’t go far enough.

Me again!
Way to capture a very passionate moment!
I’m usually a sucker for black and white, but in this case I love the colored one. Would have liked to see even a little more of the blue. The texture is just a touch heavy on the faces for my taste. Keep it up!

The last one is fantastic. I like the B&W better than the color! :)
